Disco

In my class we got to choose weather we make a wevideo about kapa haka or our disco we had at school I chose the disco.

The haka

This week we performed at the  kapa haka festival. And today we had to write a descriptive paragraph about the festival.

The Haka

It was time for the haka. the girls turned and walked to the back and the boys moved forward. I could hear the team stamping their feet. We were ready. The leader yelled kearetie kearitie keamo the rest went hei. The crowd clapped as loud as a heap of bulls running across the land. I slapped my legs till they were berning red. We finished and everyone was cheering as we walked off the stage.

  Fireworks!

The races finished and it was time for the fireworks. I was jumping up and down like there were ants in my pants. I was so excited. A person in a bright orange vest was getting the fireworks ready before it was time to launch the fireworks.

It was time the man in the vest stepped back. We started the countdown 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Bang!, Pop!, Pow! the fireworks launched into the air. They were bombs exploding in the dark sky. Wahoo! I yelled some of the fireworks looked like bullets getting sprayed by a mini gun.

“That was the best,” I said as the fireworks ended. Everyone was cheering. The lights turned on and everyone grabbed their bags and headed for the car park. I opened the car door and said I wish we could see that all again.

What is matter book

 In my class we had to make a book about what is matter on book creature.

i enjoyed making the book.

I found it hard to do five pages of facts.

 In my class for writing we were writing about something that we were nervous about.

When your nervous it feels like everything you do matters.

I was only ten years old and I was about to perform on my guitar for the very first time.

I thought that this was just a dream I never thought that this would ever happen.

As I grabbed my guitar and made my way to the squeaky wooden seat. I turned my guitar up full volum and waited for the perfect moment. Sweat was dripping down the edge of my forehead with my arms, legs and fingers shaking.

So I started playing my favourite songs saying to myself don't muck up, don't muck up. I ended with an open E string.

When I walked back to my chair everyone stood up and started clapping; they were as loud as fireworks shooting into the air. I felt so relieved everyone loved it. I couldn't believe I actually did that because when you are nervous everything you do matters.

This terms value challenge is to make a service poster we had to put a bible quote, Synonyms for service and pictures of what service looks like sounds like and feels like.

Today I learned how mood rings work. There are different colors and the different colors mean different moods. there is

Is music good for your health

In my class we were learning to write persuasive writing.

Is music good for your health ?   

Is music good for your health? I strongly believe that music is fantastic for your mental health because it can reduce anxiety, pain and helps with sadness. Music often can put people in a good mood and if you play an instrument it can be very therapeutic for your mind. I personally don't find anything better than listening or playing music.

Firstly, I strongly agree music is a great thing if you are feeling down. Music played by a piano makes you calm, changes your attitude and is soothing for the mind. Slow music is good for meditating and makes your breathing slow down which then slows down your heart. Music that is upbeat can put you in the groove and make you feel ready for your day. Rock music makes you let loose and go wild . Scientists have said that some music can even help with depression. It reduces muscle pain and it can control your mental health.

Secondly, Without a doubt music is good for you because it can make your brain stronger. Music can restore functions after very bad accidents like crashes. Music fixes the brain. Music can improve movement in patients that have had a stroke or people that have a type of disease. Music does way more than put people in good moods. It is a musical medicine.

Lastly, There is no question that  music can make you smarter. New research says if you regularly play an instrument it can change the shape and power of your brain because it makes you use both sides of your brain. If you play a guitar it can make your fingers very technical and if you play the drums you have to move your hands and feet at the same time to try and make a good beat and that can be very difficult.

In conclusion I have told you 3 reasons why music can help you. I personally think this is why you should play a musical instrument or listen to music more. When I am sad I go and play my guitar and it makes me feel way better.

Goblin shark

Goblin shark is part of the mitsukurinidae family. They are known as deep sea meat eating monster when they are actually harmless. Their teeth are made for grabbing. Predators to them are other sharks but manly blue sharks.

Goblin sharks have soft, flabby and blade-like bodies. They have a long snout that looks like a piece of pallet wood. Goblin sharks are 3.8 meters long and can live up to 30-35 years. They have a bright blue color on the edge of their fin and have extremely sharp teeth.

The goblin shark lives in open oceans from near the surface to depths of at least 1300 meters deep. Scientists have said that goblin sharks only come near to shore at night but mostly stay in the deep water. They live in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and because the goblin shark lives so deep they have to eat other sharks and rays as well as crustaceans.

Goblin sharks use electro body organs to sense their food. Their mouth propales out then grabs their fish and swallows it whole. Just like other animals the goblin shark protects itself by camouflage. I think that goblin sharks are hideous creatures and that’s what makes them interesting to me.

Wetapunga

Classification 

Weta are part of the grasshopper family. They are the heaviest insect in New Zealand.Wetas are very heavy insects they weigh as much as a small bird.

Description

They have two main eyes that have lots of small dots inside of them. They weigh up to 70 grams. They have very good camo they can blend in with anything.

Location/habitat

Wetas were found in New Zealand and lots of them have died. They have been kept in New Zealand zoos so they can keep safe. Some wetas have been brought to plenty of islands were they can hide eat and drink water.

Dynamics

Wetas do massive poos that help the environment. When wetas loose antennas they grow new ones. Female wetas lay 6 eggs at once they take one month to hatch. Wetas molt 10 times in one and a half years.

These interesting creatures do not deserve to be extinct they deserve to be free. They may be creepy and crawly but they deserve the same respect as we do

Photo collage

At my school were are learning how to play rugby. I have improved in my passing and my side stepping. I really enjoyed it because we were learning new skills like side stepping, passing, communicating.

The school have let people come from turanga health come in and teach us. It doesn't just teach us rugby because the way they teach us to throw the ball it helps with other sports. We also learn rugby because it makes us stronger and healthy.

Them coming in and showing us how to play rugby is a pleasure. I really enjoyed learning how to play and its good for our fitness and health.

In my class we also learnt how to make a photo collage so that we don't have a long line of photos down our page. We had to make a background then we inserted photo of our choice. Then we had to crop them and try to fit them in. We also had to figure how to fit them all the photos in.

Why do people keep pets?

If you have a dog and you come home from school and see a wagging tail and get a nice lick on the face no wonder it's called the mans best friend.

Maybe you have a cat at home instead. When you're down in the dumps, your furry and purry friend is sure to be there to snuggle up beside you to let you know everything is going to be just fine. Cats make great cuddle buddies any time of the day.

"Are we there yet” said huia river didn't say a word. They were crawling thru the boosh panting trying to catch there breath when they came upon a huge mighty mountain. How are we supposed to get over that thing. I guess we have to climb it. Are you kidding me I me I already fell of a hill and broke my rib now I have to climb one. 

River found a long piece of some sort of vine. I will tie this around me and try to climb the hill said river. River started racing up the hill squishing his hands and feet threw rocks when his foot slipped he was falling nothing there to stop him it was like he was doing backflips in the air. OUCH!!!!!!! river was screaming in pain.

Great whispered huia are you all right. OUCH my leg river was still screaming. Slowly the pain eezed of. I will try to find a way around while you lay on that bolder sure thing cuz. 

Huia look!, what is  it. Helicopters imens black helicopters. River come on yelled huia. I think I found a way up. I thought we were going to die out here. said river trying to catch his breath. Finally they made it. Do you think they see us! Look one is coming towards us. The helicopter was getting closer and closer every minute. One of the guys came down on a super long later and said Climb up this so they did. After all that time in milford sound they are finally found.

We have some good news the boy and girl named huia and river that got lost in milford sound have finally been found. They have safely been sent to the hospital and are in great shape.

Lockdown

Beep beep beep! Screemed my blasting alarm clock. JoyfulyI woke up and it was really weird because it was so quiet. I got dressed, ate my breakfast, put my flash blue shoes on and then went outside. I hoped on my highlighter green and black bike and was riding it up and down my extrodinary long driveway. There were no nossy trucks, no revving cars, only a couple people going for walks. I could hear the calm chirping bird’s and the fresh smell of lavender in the garden 

I thought to myself what should I do I would Usually be getting ready for school. (Light bulb) I know what! Why dont I play my guitar. I sped to my room faster then flash snached my guitar and plugged in my dark black amp. I started jamming out playing some of my favourite bands (nirvana, red hot chili peppers, weezer, metallica and foo fighters). I was playing like I was at a rock concert.

When everyone in my house was up we went for an extra long walk all the way to Aberdeen road, to te hapara store all the way home. (That was sssssooooo long) I said.

When it got closer to the end of the day we watched a super cool show called running wild it's got an adventurer called bear grylls. He takes famous people on adventures and they have to survive and eat yuck stuff like worms, dead birds and he has the smartest brain if he is even in the dessert he probably could make a fire. And they can only use stuff in the wild and what they have. (yawn) Ah it feels sooper nice just to come back from a big day and just relax.

I got called into saint mary's school to crack a case I raced into my slick black ferrari and zoomed all the way there. There were sharp corners to drift around and lots of cars to pass. There I was I quickly drifted around the corner into a perfect park. I hoped out of the car in my black and white soot with  my breef case. There I went to see Mrs Aperahama she said a teacher stole her prize stash of sweet treets. That second I wrote down some suspects that I thought would have done the crime

So I waited till lunch time to ask the suspects some questions. While I was waiting I took some photos and reported them to the New Zealand agentcy. Something that I found supesuis is that when I was sneaking around in room2 when they were out for PE  there were billions of chocolate rappers in the rubbish bin. It was lunch time I ask Mrs B some questions and she said she was doing reading with other kids when it happened and I did see her with some kids in a class. Then I asked mrs Mcguigan some questions and she said she had cameras installed yesterday and she was also on the phone to the electrician. So there was one teacher left Mrs Hickling and she wasn't speaking and the photos of the chocolate rappers were from here class. I think I had figured out the case it was DUN DUN DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNN

Did you now that you haved to have a circute to make a light bolb glow?The word circuit means that something moves in one direction around and back to the beginning. This is how electricatricity works.First you will need something that generates power like a baterry.A battery hase an even and negative side.Also you will need wires they could ether be a spicifict wire or just a wire.Then you need to conet wires to the battery then you can conect the battery to the light bolbe. But if you wont you light to turn on and of you will need to ad a light bolb switch.Electricatey curcuits are used in most digital technology such as lights computers flash lights and also some very complex thecnoligy stuff like cars and lights in your houses. Some lights might be easy to conect but putting them in houses would be very tricky.
